As the closing performance of the Future Queer exhibition commemorating the 20th anniversary of the lgbti organization Kaos GL, Istanbul Queer Art Collective adapted the fluxus score No. 96 and “deconstructed” one of their own works of art. In the previous year the collective had made the “Wounded Furniture” during a live performance and it had been exhibited throughout the Future Queer Exhibition. On the last day of the exhibition the destruction of the wounded furniture become a new performance: Koltuk Sevdası which is a saying in Turkish that literally translates as “love of armchair” and refers to the desire to gain and maintain positions of power. Understanding art to be more about the process than the end product, transitory rather than immortal and related to destruction as much as creation,  Koltuk Sevdası is about constant transformation, radical drag and the cold turkey approach to curing the addiction to power and the objects that symbolize them.
